1. Who you are contracting with

PurseProof is operated by Vanessa Carmody (“we”, “us”, “the seller”). When you buy a report, credit pack or membership, your contract is with Vanessa Carmody.

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old or otherwise of legal age in your jurisdiction, and that any information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.

2. The service

PurseProof provides a guided, software-based assessment of luxury handbags. You submit photographs and answer questions; we return an AI-generated assessment with an authenticity percentage, a point-by-point report card, a condition grade, a resale estimate and a downloadable certificate.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, within the plan you have purchased. You may not resell or redistribute the service or its certificates, and you may not attempt to reverse engineer the service or circumvent its technical limits.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent permitted by law.

3. AI-generated assessments — please read

Every PurseProof assessment and certificate is generated by artificial intelligence from the photographs and answers you provide. An AI assessment is an expert opinion, not a guarantee of authenticity. Results may be inaccurate, and they depend heavily on the quality of the photographs and the honesty of the answers given.

You are responsible for taking good, clear photographs, providing detailed and honest information, how you use the results, and for verifying anything that matters to you before buying, selling or valuing an item. The low price of a report reflects that it is an AI opinion, not a hands-on inspection — it is your decision whether a human authenticator is needed for further review. A PurseProof certificate must not be relied on as the sole basis for a purchase, sale, insurance claim or legal dispute.

PurseProof is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any brand named on this site. Brand names are used only to identify the items being assessed.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service. In particular you must not: use it for any unlawful purpose; submit content you have no right to use; submit fraudulent, deceptive or misleading material; attempt to probe, disrupt or interfere with the security or operation of the service; scrape or harvest content; or upload malware.

You must not use certificates to misrepresent an item, defraud a buyer or seller, or deceive any third party. We may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter outputs, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the service itself — its software, design, documentation and branding. You retain all rights in the photographs and content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you.

Your certificate and report are yours to use for the item you submitted. If you believe content on PurseProof infringes your rights, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it. Repeated infringement by a user may lead to account closure.

6. Payment, billing and Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, taxes, renewals, cancellations and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms), which apply in addition to these terms. Memberships renew monthly until cancelled; you can cancel at any time from your certificates page or via Paddle, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Credit packs do not expire while your account remains open.

Prices are shown at checkout and include any applicable taxes as calculated by Paddle at the point of sale.

7. Accounts and security

If you create an account you must keep your sign-in credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate these rules.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages — including loss of profits, loss of data or loss of goodwill — arising from your use of the service or reliance on an assessment. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination and your data

When access ends, certificates already issued to you remain downloadable for a reasonable export window, after which account data may be deleted in line with our Privacy Notice.

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page applies from its “last updated” date. These terms are governed by the laws of the seller's jurisdiction, and disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
